            R2π
tRansition from linear 2 circular: Policy and Innovation
            Funding Programme: Horizon2020

R2π – tRansition from linear 2 circular: Policy and Innovation is a three-year project within the environment theme of Horizon 2020 (H2020). R2π (the R represents the linear “radius” while the π symbolizes the circle) project began in November 2016 and is due to end in October 2019 with a total funding of 3 million Euros.
R2π examines ways to shift from the broad concept of a Circular Economy (CE) to one of Circular Economy Business Models (CEBM) while searching for both market failures and policy failure that hinder the broad implementation, use, and acceptance of CEBMs. The uniqueness of the R2π project is in having a strong business orientation that goes beyond environmental goals and in examining the role of (innovative) business tools and policy packages on the diffusion of CEBMs.
The aim of the R2π project is to highlight sustainable business models for circular economy and to propose Policy Packages that will support such business models. This will be achieved by analyzing a substantial amount of case studies covering different sectors and countries followed by a quantitative analysis. The accumulated knowledge will enable the project partners to identify best practices and develop the R2π toolbox and policy guidelines to support both business and policy makers.
In the framework of this project ESCP is a validation partner responsible for academic networking and dissemination through higher education.

            STARS4ALL
A Collective Awareness Platform for Promoting Dark Skies in Europe
            Funding Programme: Horizon2020

STARS4ALL is a European project raising awareness about the negative effects of artificial light on human wellbeing, biodiversity, visibility of stars, safety and energy waste.
STARS4ALL creates a Light Pollution Initiative (LPI) incubation platform that will allow generating (and maintaining) customizable on-demand domain-focused LPIs (e.g. a light pollution working group in Brussels). The platform will be self-sustainable: it will integrate a crowdfunding tool to fund the LPIs; it will consider incentives that motivate citizens to participate in LPIs, as well as policies to handle those incentives; and it will provide innovations in data acquisition from sensors deployed by citizens and in games with a purpose.
In the project ESCP coordinates the business related activities including the creation of a foundation and organize competitions in WP1, a marketplace in WP3 (Collective Awareness) and a sustainability plan in WP2 (Outreach & Dissemination). ESCP is the leader of the Sustainability Team and member of the Executive Board in STARS4ALL structure.

            Jean Monnet Academic Module
Introduction to European Business Administration and Organisations
Funding Programme: ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet 2016

Free movements of people, goods, services and capitals have been at the heart of the European Union (EU) ever since its creation, and have allowed the emergence and growth of what now represents one the largest consumer markets in the world. The recent economic crisis has however highlighted the need to innovate and create new businesses, for instance drawing from emerging social and societal concerns (e.g. protecting the environment) or new technologies (e.g. 3D printing) to foster economic growth. In order to successfully develop new businesses in Europe, one needs to understand the European context, its history, and how its institutions shape business practices across member states and the common market.
The project seeks to develop and implement an academic module that introduces EU issues to students on a business administration programme (Bachelor in Management with liberal arts and languages) in an interdisciplinary way. Students taking this compulsory module will be from a management program, which will take them to study in 3 different countries of the EU over the course of their 3-year Bachelor degree. The course will also be offered as an option to students of the pre-master programme (French Grande Ecole students), using distance learning platforms and video-link classes. The proposed Jean-Monnet Module will thus provide an introduction to European Union studies to a student population, which would not otherwise come in contact with these topics.

The Guiding questions for students on the course are: What is the role played by EU Institutions in shaping business practices of the member states? What is the European business environment like? What is it like to innovate and develop businesses in the EU? How should one approach business on one of the largest common markets in the world? How has the EU made business in Europe easier? What are the roots and values of the EU and what do they mean in terms of doing business in the EU?

            Massive Open Online courses
eNhancing LInguistic and Transversal skills for social inclusion and Employability (MOONLITE)
Funding Programme: ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices”

“MOONLITE: MOOCs enhancing linguistic and transversal skills for social inclusion & employability” project (2016 – 2019) has been designed to widen and improve the HEIs teaching for registered HEI students, create new educational pathways for refugees  and build entrepreneurial and language skills among those two groups. Specifically, the consortium aims to:

            • Identify opportunities and barriers in recognizing  Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)-based learning for students and refugees
            • Create institutional and cross-institutional scenarios to exploit MOOCs for credit-bearing HEI courses & future employability amongst students and refugees
            • Implement a set of scenarios in partner HEIs and amongst our partnership reaching 175 learners, refugees and registered students
            • Create a cost-benefit analysis tool, allowing Higher Education Institutions to calculate the impact of MOOC-provision on their triple bottom lines (financial, environmental, social)
            • Run an open online course targeted at MOOC providers and refugee support groups on how to design and utilize MOOCs for refugees while make learning resources available beyond course duration
            • Create a vision and recommendations, aimed at European policy makers and institutional leaders, for a more viable and strategic role of MOOCs in European HEIs.

            ReOPEN
Recognition of Valid and Open Learning
Funding Programme: ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices”

ReOPEN project addresses one of the key innovations in education – Opening Up. Opening of education is the challenge for organizations in terms of organizational change, curriculum opening up (through open educational resources, through Massive open online courses or through open collaboration and communication among teachers and learners), but also in terms of opening and creating innovative education services for diverse learning groups. ReOPEN project addresses the issues of recognition and validation of non-formal open learning. The project will create innovative non-formal open learning examples and cases, as well as valid non-formal learning infrastructures to design and create open and innovative education for C-VET, lifelong learning and higher education organizations, as well as companies who will be consortium partners and also members of international networks.  ReOPEN project aims to create instruments to develop validated OOL for recognition of prior and non-formal learning. The aim will be reached through the following objectives:

            1. To design a platform for non-formal open learning curriculum (e.g. MOOC) development with learning validation and recognition instruments in place (learner credentials, digital badges, learning path recognition and assessment tools).
            2. To train T&TT at C-VET organizations, companies, HE institutions and adult learning organizations to: a)  design validated non-formal open learning curriculum (e.g. MOOC or other); b)  apply of digital badges as a new form of digital credentialisation and tracking one’s learning path in non-formal open learning; c) recognize non-formal open learning results in formal curricular.
            3. To exploit the new platform and to design non-formal open learning courses for continuous professional staff developing applying learning recognition instruments for validated non-formal open learning
            4. To establish partnership for future collaboration for non-formal open learning recognition (reviewing curriculum in partner institutions and preparing information on potential recognition of open learning). OOL practices embedded in digital era will contribute to OOL recognition, open and innovative pedagogy, transparency and recognition of skills and access to qualifications for C-VET.

            Managing Money
Development of financial capability in adult education using technology
Funding Programme: ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices”

Managing Money addresses the need to increase the financial capability of adults, including those with low levels of previous learning experience and those at risk in managing their personal finances. Curriculum development will be prefaced by an exploration of current research, resources and initiatives in the public and private sectors. The curriculum will aim to develop adults' financial capabilities and their ability to make informed choices about their personal finances throughout their lives and changing circumstances.

In parallel, Managing Money will develop resources and materials to support innovative models of delivery, including online / blended, tutor supported, self directed and flipped models of learning which will be trialled by project partners. Resources will consist of training and guidance for adult learning tutors which will give teaching staff the knowledge and tools to deliver the curriculum using innovative delivery methods as well as learner resources based in real life contexts and scenarios, such as loan management and pension planning. Resources will include a "Managing Money" responsive app, using the award winning Maths Everywhere app as a basis for development. It will be hosted for 2 years beyond the project lifetime, freely downloadable from the web, apple and Google play stores and accessible through learners' own technologies.

The curriculum, tutor and learner resources will be trialled and evaluated by partner organisations, with the difference made to learners' financial, digital and mathematical capabilities measured and analysed and successful models of blended learning delivery identified.

Evaluation framework, resources and case studies will be included in a learning guide for educationalists, providers and tutors which will be promoted through partner training events in each participating country and through EU wide webinars, workshops and keynotes at relevant events, including European Basic Skills Network, European Association for the Education of Adults and national coordinator for the European Agenda for adult learning events, through EU networks, partner networks and memberships and via EPALE. Training workshops in each partner country and EU wide webinars will support non - partner organisations to deliver the curriculum in their own organisations
